Effluents used in agriculture
The treated wastewater discharged from the secondary clarifiers is known as effluent. These effluents are discharged into a reservoir
The treated wastewater flows discharged from the secondary clarifiers are termed effluents. These effluents are discharged into a reservoir located next to the treatment plant, which is operated by the Mekorot Water Company. Here, the effluents undergo disinfection with chlorine and are discharged into a pipeline to the Jezreel Valley where they are stored in reservoirs operated by a farmers’ cooperative (Tishlovet Kishon) and are used for irrigating farmlands in the valley.
